We finished up our Edgar Allen Poe poems, The Raven (we will read this nevermore) and A Dream Within A Dream (IS all that we see just a dream within a dream? hmmmmm) We completed The Pied Piper and the (rewrite) of the The Declaration of Independence-which the children were able to sum up in 3 words-what a job of editing!!!!!!!!!!!We will now read the final story in Persuasion-our text from the William and Mary College of Gifted Education, (Be on the look out for this story with the word velvet in it) -it is difficult but I know that they can do it.) We will continue with analogies, "What If's?, Kiddieland memories, word origins and vocabulary.
Favorite moment: Rumor had it that Mary Alice from Ace of Cakes also read an Edgar Allen Poe poem while designing an Edgar Allen cake (chocolate of course) for an Edgar Allen Poe themed party. One student was reading her Edgar Allen Poe poem given to her by Ms. Mary Alice -doodoodoodooooooo!
